Wednesday Day 3:
By 11am I reached 10,000
With about 40 minutes on the bike
50 minutes walk/run
And an hour of Pilates reformer (I got to 10,000 with 5 minutes left in class)
I'm really enjoying this challenge, and surprisingly I'm not in first place but its still fun and it pushes me to work harder in my workouts to get the most steps.
Tomorrow thanksgiving 5k at Ponte vedra- if this all I get I'm ok with that.
Probably spin ride at home (but I'm not making a big deal about it)

Day 2
This morning at 4:15am I got on my spin bike and rode (I had been up since 2...the cats have been fighting alot, I thought it was just Sam the older, original cat but I caught Stella provoking him.
Anyways, I got a little over 5,000 in 1 hr and 1/2 and while I was debating leaving that since i was way over 10,000 steps my co-worker called me and told me her number 7,000, and I also looked on the results page and realized I wasn't first....grrr by 500 steps. So they both lit a fire in me.
So around 6:30pm I got back on the bike. I couldn't stop checking my pedometer, which stops the pedometer so bad idea until I got to 10,000. I don't know why but my pedometer beeped when I got to 10,000 like an alarm clock. By that point I was very concentrated in the biggest loser episode on my dvr from last week so I kept going,

Official Day 1
After a lackluster weekend where I was short both days of 10,000
I really pushed myself today, I knew I wanted over 10,000 (15,000 would be great) so I can have some extra steps for other days. Around 7,000 steps in my spin this morning, awesome!!
A little over 6,000 steps in my walk.
Also making myself walk up and down stairs (4 flights, aprx. 200 steps each way). Also parking my car far away when possible.
Total today: 22,023 steps. I was at almost 22,000 when I got into bed to watch tv and pet the cat I was short 200 so I made myself walk in place to get to 22,000
Insanity & awesomeness. Not surprising though because I'm used to several workouts on Monday, and I didn't really do anything extra.

Day 1 Unofficial
As I got to work this morning at Deerwood Country Club Fitness Center and one of my spinning students was asking about this new program starting Monday, where members can buy a pedometer ($30) and calculate their steps and win prizes for the most steps. A coworker told me the program/pedometer was free for employees, but the girl at the front desk didnt know that so she wouldn't give me one before teaching. (She called me later and said she had a pedometer for me) I was bummed because I couldn't use it for class, but two of my students had theirs and one got 6,000 steps and the other 7,000 aprx. ( for 45 minutes???.... Amazing!!)
I've worn the pedometer this afternoon (I got a massage...no steps there lol, in Pilates barely any steps (Less then 300) I'm curious to see what it will say for yoga.
Basically by the end of today (6 hours) I had close to 9,000 (goal is 10,000) but that's not including spinning and yoga this morning.
My frustrations:
Tried the pedometer on my spin bike at home placed on the bottom edge of my shirt (where one of my students in class put it), but it was being finicky, and not counting revolutions, I kept trying to move it, shake it, and it wouldn't last working. Going to act my director where exactly to put the pedometer. Seems easy but not really.
Strategies:
Park car far away and walk
Stand on in place, walk in place
10,000 steps=5 miles aprx.
Monday & 3.2 outside walk/ run (depending on weather
Treadmill at home
Wii fit steps, running
Right now the bike isn't counting for miles consistently
What's your tips to get more steps?
